The following section describes the climbs on the northern side of the Southern Descent Gully which is the most commonly used descent from the main cliffs. . Cairns mark the way on the rim of the Pound. There are two entrances to the gully at the top. Make sure that you start down the left (northern) one facing out, and follow a series of ramps and ledges near the wall before moving across into the centre of the gully. It’s then a scrambledown a corner and past the water tank to the base of the gully. Eight climbs grace the right side of the gully.
