Bumbling Stock
United States | Tunnel One | Rock Climbing Clear Creek
SPORT TRADITIONAL
Tucked in on the hillside just a few hundred feet west of Stumbling Block (p42) is Bumbling Stock. On the left side of the wall you will see overhanging, tiered roofs with project anchors high up and to the right (and left), a sport climb, and a splitter offwidth. This wall is southeast-facing and gets morning sun with peaceful afternoon shade. Beware of poison ivy along the base of the cliff.
Approach: Drive 1.7 miles up canyon and park at a long pullout on the left next to mile marker 270. Walk west up the canyon past the Blonde Man’s Bluff area (p41) and find a large tree with a steep, rocky climber’s trail leading north up the hill. Once you gain the Stumbling Block, turn left and walk a few hundred yards west to this small cliff.
