There is a plethora of classic climbing on the west side of Tunnel 5, including walls like Catslab, The Dog House, and Creekside. If you have already climbed on those walls more than enough times, head over to Cats vs Dogs Wall. This is the west-facing wall on the west side of the tunnel and a few hundred feet south (downstream) of the road. While the rock quality isn’t great at this wall, the movement on the routes is fun and thoughtful. Approach: Park 100 yards west of Tunnel 5 on the south (left) side of the road after driving 12.2 miles up canyon. This is the same parking as for Catslab. From here, walk back towards Tunnel 5 and look up to see the chossy wall a few hundred feet to the right of the tunnel on the south side of the road. Use the main approach trail on the south side of the road until you are about even with the wall, then hike up switchbacks to the base.
