While Clear Creek Canyon isn't known for its sustained and classic ice flows, it does host some fun and beginner accessible ice climbs for the Front Range. There are only a few ice climbs listed in this guide, however, there are probably a half a dozen more that form during the coldest winters. We have also mentioned a decent mixed climbing area called M3 Crag that is worth checking out. Approach Drive about 2.8 miles up the canyon and park in the wide pullout on the south side of the road. Walk down to the creek and cross at the most solid point. Beer Garden is inaccessible when the creek is not frozen. Be very careful of crossing on thin ice.
