Convenience Cliff
United States | Tunnel Six | Rock Climbing Clear Creek
SPORT TRADITIONAL
Crag Profile: While not named for the easy approach, this crag hosts a variety of fun climbs on beautiful wave-like rock. A lot of the routes here will let your fingertips do the work for you by digging into some of the sharp crimps on routes like Kum & Go (5.11d) and Breaking the Mold (5.12b). All of the anchors have great toprope access by hiking around to the backside of the cliff. The wall is high in the canyon and gets afternoon sun with its west-facing position.
Approach: Drive 12.9 miles up canyon and park on the north (right) side of the road, going just past Tunnel 6. Walk upstream along the road for 100 yards to a yellow sign indicating a turn in the road. Across the road from this sign, on the south side of the road, is a faint trail and cairn. Walk up the hill trending east and following a trail and cairns to the cliff uphill and to the east. Be careful of loose rocks on the trail as they might end up in the road.
