Left Wire
United States | Tunnel Two East | Rock Climbing Clear Creek
SPORT TRADITIONAL
When you’re looking to get away from the road noise or even the heavy crowds at High Wire, head south to Left Wire where you will oftentimes enjoy quiet seclusion and even a climb or two. Fun routes here include Prevade (5.10c), Night Stick (5.11b), and Totality of Facts (5.12a). This wall faces southeast and gets enjoyable winter sun.
Approach: Located on the east side of Tunnel 2 just south of High Wire, drive 6.0 miles up the canyon and park at a long, narrow pullout on the north (right) side of the road. Do not park on the south side of the road, there has been a history of cars being smashed by loose blocks, and you may also be ticketed. After parking, walk towards the tunnel, cross to the south side of the road and take the steep trail up a few feet of third class terrain before gaining a smoother approach trail that leads to the base of High Wire. Continue past Pony Up (p74) and take the higher trail south for about 100 yards before getting to the right side of Left Wire.
