Low Wire
United States | Tunnel Two East | Rock Climbing Clear Creek
SPORT MIXED PRO
These routes are situated on the lower portion of High Wire, closer to the creek. They provide some challenging and fun climbing in a good setting. Land of the Lost (5.11c) and Fly Low (5.12a) offer long and sustained climbing with multiple cruxes, while Badgersaurus (5.12a) and Pound Town (5.12b) climb more like boulder problems. It gets almost as much sun as High Wire does, but the crag is lower in the canyon so it remains more shaded.
Approach: The best way to get to Low Wire is to use the High Wire approach (p78), then take a left and hike downhill to the right at Via Comatose Amigo (p76). You should see the wall after about 100 feet of scrambling downhill to the right. The rightmost route and the first bolted line you will see is Badgersaurus. To access Land of the Lost and other routes that are on the lower tier, rappel or scramble down the slab to the left of Vagini using a two-bolt anchor. You can also lower down from the anchor of Fly High and then climb Fly Low to get out of there.
