Prohibition Pinnacle
United States | The Long Stretch | Rock Climbing Clear Creek
SPORT
This wall has one of the best crack climbs Clear Creek has to offer for a short single pitch route. This wall doesn’t see much traffic, however, it offers nice views from the top of the pinnacle and a piece of solidarity in an often times crowded canyon. There is a belay anchor on the lower right of the wall, on a ledge to belay for The Incisor. You could climb The Martian from this anchor, but it would take away from the runout beginning part of the climb, which adds character. It gets blasted with sun in the mornings and shaded in the afternoons, a fun hang-out on a winter morning!
Approach: Park as for Little Piece of South Dakota, 8.7 miles up the canyon on the left/ south side of the road just before a large boulder. Hike downstream a couple hundred yards until you can look up on the left/north side of the road and see the wall. Cross the road and begin down and right of the wall next to the guardrail on the north side of the road. Do not go at this wall directly since you might drop rocks onto the road. 20 min
