Sports Wall

United States | Tunnel One | Rock Climbing Clear Creek

SPORT
TRADITIONAL

While it doesn’t look like much from the road, Sports Wall is a great wall that offers some classic lines on solid rock. This is one of the older walls in the canyon and often times you will climb past some old pins and bolts, or even find that a route doesn’t have an anchor. Not to worry though, on the south/right side of the cliff there is an access trail that takes you back to the base of the wall. There is a mix of sport and trad climbs here, including Balkan Dirt Diving, one of the best 5.12s in the canyon. The wall faces west, gets sun most of the day, and is a great wall to come to for sun on a winter day. Approach: Drive 1.2 miles up canyon, going through Tunnel One at 1.0 miles. Park at the first pullout on the right (north side), roughly 200 yards west of the tunnel. Cross to the south side of the road (by the creek) and walk east back down the canyon along the road for 200 yards until you see a prominent dirt trail leading uphill to the wall.
