Sushi Slab
United States | Tunnel Five | Rock Climbing Clear Creek
SPORT
The Sushi Slab is a new wall that has a couple of moderates, as well as a lot of potential. Just be careful of dropping rocks down the gully. It receives afternoon sun and is a great winter afternoon crag, or a summer morning. The approach is not ideal, and is a little bit of a bushwhack, but you will probably have this place to yourself if you can make the effort, and if there are more routes here in the future.
Approach: Park on the east side of tunnel 6, and find The Bunker trail on the south side of the road. Take this trail only for a few hundred feet before cutting left and bushwhack-traversing the hillside until reaching the gully just before the Sushi Slab. Stay low, only a hundred feet or so above the road while you traverse east towards the gully. You can see the slab from the parking area, use this as a reference. Do not scramble straight up the gully below the slab from the road immediately because of the loose rock that you could trundle to the road. 20 min
