The Talon
United States | The Long Stretch | Rock Climbing Clear Creek
SPORT
While this wall is short, it packs a punch with a few hard climbs. The best route on the wall is probably Where the Eagles Dare, however, it was never properly cleaned and probably won’t get enough traffic to ever be classic. I would recommend coming here if you’re ready to crush some hard routes and maybe brush them at the same time. The first bolt on all of these routes are super high, a stick-clip is mandatory. You will be in the shade on this north-facing wall and away from the crowds.
Approach: This is a challenging approach. Park as for New Economy Cliff, and cross the creek where it looks the lowest. Walk downstream until you find a clearing in the trees and a large boulderfield above you to the south leading uphill. Hike up the boulderfield as it turns into scree and loose dirt for the next ¼ mile. There are some small cairns marking the way to keep you on track, but in no way do they lead to a trail of any kind. 30 min
