Tanima Peak sits midway between Isolation Peak and Mount Alice, and 0.6 miles southeast of Boulder-Grand Pass. The Continental Divide does not quite reach to the summit. The peak is long and narrow on an east-west axis and presents a beautiful profile from Lion Lakes Basin. Approach: The ususal approach is via the Wild Basin/Thunder Lake Trail . It is reasonable, but somewhat longer, to hike in via the East Inlet Trail (9 miles to Boulder-Grand Pass, p???). Descent: Hike down the West Slope route to Boulder-Grand Pass, then scramble down to Lake of Many Winds; or hike down to Fourth Lake if you came in from the west.
