Ochre Wall

Canada | Skaha | Skaha Rock Climbs

SPORT
TRADITIONAL

Ochre Wall looks something like a bow-head whale (go on, screw your eyes up and squint at the picture). The massive left end has an impressive sweep of compact and polished rock. The right-hand end gradually tails off to nothing. The harder routes, which are smooth and crimpy, have not engendered the same enthusiasm as the simian jug-pulls that seem to top the Skaha hit list. This is your place, however, if you like to fi nesse your way through stuff that is just off vertical and smooth as a baby’s.
